Hearty welcome to the most Inspirational challenging life journey of Prof. Nilima Bhagabati, a prominent, strong and pleasing personality whose brilliant educational journey started from kindergarten to Post Graduation followed by Doctoral studies in Adolescence Psychology as Research Fellow of Gauhati University, Assam, India without looking back. During her passionate Professional career, she was invited to Columbia University, New York, USA for her Post Doctoral Studies in 1992.

During her professional career for more than four decades, she reached and transformed the lives of thousands of young adolescent learners, in-Service Teachers of both School and Higher Education and Parents/ Guardians by providing free Guidance and Counseling Service and continuing with the same sprit after her retirement in 2015 from her Alma mator, Gauhati University, Assam, India.

Rooted with passionate love in her subject domain she is giving her voluntary service to the student community for bringing a difference in their lives and future career as inner core abilities and talents.

Prof. Bhagabati was nominated by the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India as National Focus Member after approval of National Education Policy-2020 on July 29, 2020 by the Hon’ ble Prime Minister of India to chair the Committee formed for inclusion of Guidance and Counselling in School Education as follow up of National Education Policy-2020. Under her chairmanship, the Position Paper on Guidance and Counselling was framed and well accepted by Ministry of Education, Govt. of India for rolling in School Education and continuation to upper strata.

This platform showcases her extensive achievements as Teaching Professional by Choice. She is an accomplished Teacher, a passionate Teacher Educator, an International Educationist, adolescents and youths Mentor and teachers and Parents’s Counselor. In addition, a committed social worker and collaborative Researcher partner. Her ability in multi-tasking, educational leadership, competency in educational administration, interpersonal relationship skill, social management skill are visibly observed by one all. She is popular in social media for her counselling Blogs for the young minds since 2022. A sought-after Motivational Speaker, Prof. Bhagabati is an impressive magnetic personality drawing the attention of the cross-section society.

Prof. Bhagabati is actively associated with National Councils and Committees like NCTE, RIEs, NCERT, IGNCA, IUC-TE, Bhartiya Sikshan Mandal as Akil Bharat Upadhakshya and CTEF. She is sharing her suggestions and ideas in a number Executive Councils, Committees as Executive members in Higher Education of NE India. She is actively associated with Council for Teacher Education Foundation (CTEF) a non-profiting professional organization of teachers from Foundational Education to Higher education including Teacher Education. The prime objectives of CTEF are to develop resourceful, competent and skillful teaching professionals. Since 2009, Prof. Bhagabati is shouldering the responsibility of CTEF as Inter’national Secretary General and successfully established with her inner ability twenty-two national CTEF chapters in the country and one overseas in Nepal besides extending cooperation and collaboration research and other need based Higher Education programs with overseas Universities.

Prof. Bhagabati during her highly respectful long professional career and now in continuation after retirement is paying adequate attention to adolescent Learners and her self-approach to pre-secondary stage learners to develop them as responsible citizens of the country. In addition, Prof. Bhagabati is taking ahead a need-based Mission for Young minds themed- ‘Mentel Health Literacy and Sustainability’ in various districts of Assam and outside with the Message- ‘Balancing Physical and Mental health for wellnesses.
